Russell Knight Properties was launched in 1995 with the purpose of managing investment properties for Leonard and Debbie. We originally launched as RK Properties but changed the name in 2011 to Russell Knight Properties, LLC. The Russell portion of the name comes from Debbie’s maiden name…Russell. Debbie grew up in Greeneville, TN and her father’s name is Ben Russell.
We started investing in 1995 when we sold a piece of farmland to a developer. We reinvested the revenue from this sale using a 1031 Exchange in order to avoid capital gains taxes. We contracted the Exchange Experts in Denver, Colorado to facilitate the exchange for us. We have used them many times since and definitely recommend working with them for your next exchange.
